The SCO technical support BBS is still alive and well. However, it does
require a support contract for access. If you have a support contract and
need to know how to access the BBS, send me mail. If you are interested in
low-cost access to this service (WARNING! WARNING! commercial plug in progress)
we offer a BBS-only level of support for $95 per year. This gives you access
to our technical support database, technical how-to articles, product
announcements, etc. Another service is downloading fixes via UUCP. This
service is available to anyone, free of charge. Below are instructions
for connecting and downloading, and a list of current fixes.

----------------------------------------------
Selected Support Level Supplements (SLS) are available for transfer
using UUCP. This service is available to any SCO customer regardless
of support status. To use this service, you should be familiar
with setting up and using UUCP as described in the chapter "Building
a Remote Network with UUCP" in the SCO XENIX System Administrator's
Guide.
Before attempting to transfer an SLS, you must have a modem configured
to dial out from your computer. For more information on configuring
a modem, see chapter 14, "Using Terminals and Modems," in the System
Administrator's Guide.
Once you have your modem configured for dialing out, you must set up
your UUCP configuration to recognize the SCO system which contains
the SLS's. If you have a 2400 baud or lower modem, add the following
line to the end of the "Systems" configuration file in the directory
/usr/lib/uucp:
sosco Any ACU Any 14084253502 ogin:- at -ogin:- at -ogin: uusls
If you have a Telebit brand modem, use the following line:
sosco Any ACU Any 14084291786 ogin:- at -ogin:- at -ogin: uusls
Once your system is configured, you can use the uucp(C) command to
request files from the remote system. All files reside in the
directory /usr/spool/uucppublic/SLS. The first file that should be
transferred is /usr/spool/uucppublic/SLS/info. The uucp(C) command
to transfer this file into the directory /usr/spool/uucppublic on
your system is:
uucp sosco!/usr/spool/uucppublic/SLS/info /usr/spool/uucppublic/info
If you are using the C shell command interpreter, you must enter a
backslash character "\" before the exclamation mark "!" to prevent
the C shell history mechanism from intercepting the rest of the
command line.
The "info" file contains the names of all other files that are
available and instructions on how to install the SLS's once they
have been transferred to your system. The info file will be updated
as new SLS's are added, and can be periodically downloaded to check
for these latest additions.
