bu>Subj: ATI VGA boards compatible with SCO Xenix 286 2.3.2?
bu>I'm considering upgrading my AST Premium 286 running Xenix 2.3.2
bu>to VGA colour. Because of price/performance, I'm looking at the
bu>ATI boards (ATI Prism (USA) or ATI Wonder (Canada)). However,
bu>I've already heard one horror story about an ATI Prism board
bu>in a DTK 286 motherboard that did not work with Xenix (I know
bu>the guy; he's knowledgeable about PC's so there was some serious
bu>or deceptive problem). I'd rather have my ducks lined up before
bu>I fire off my credit card at some retailer.
bu>I've checked the Release Notes for Xenix 286 2.3.2 (page A-28
bu>in my copy). Neither board is in the list.
bu>Can any one from SCO comment on whether Xenix will support
bu>either ATI board even though they're not on the published list.
bu>Has anyone had experiences of either board working or not
bu>working with Xenix 286 2.3.2? (I'll even accept other
bu>suggestions for VGA boards that you're happy with!)
bu>If I get any e-mail responses, then I'll summarize to this
bu>group.
When I first bought my system, I had an ATI EGA-Wonder card, and
XENIX would only boot if the card were locked into CGA mode. That
was version 2.2.3
