Info on Unix book wanted

I saw a book on Unix at the Indiana University Book Store at Bloomington
a few days ago.  Unfortunately, I lost the piece of paper on which I noted 
the author's name, etc. The book is written by a British author (possibly
two) and published in Britain by an American publisher, probably
Addison-Wesley. It has fairly long chapters on C, the Bourne shell and the C
shell. The date of publication is 1984.
