add-line/delete-line in curses?

Has anyone added AL/DL hardware support to insertln.c and deleteln.c
in libcurses?  And are you willing to post changes to net.sources?
Support for IC/DC would be nice but not as critical.

Believe it or not, I'm using curses not to write a game, but to write
a bitmap editor!  Even the 4.2 BSD version of curses doesn't make use
of a terminal's ability to insert and delete lines.
