I've never seen this service provided in the vanilla version of any of the
following editions of Unix:
V[67], 4.[12]BSD, SIII, SV.[12]
If you have the seashell (csh) you can "do it yourself" by putting the following
line in your $HOME/.logout file:
find $HOME -name '#*' -exec /bin/rm -f '{}' ';'
