The SUNY at Stony Brook computing center has recently received a port of
System V.0 which runs on the Univac 1100 series mainframes. (A set of notes
about SX-1100, as the system is named, will be posted in the next week or
10 days).
The system administrator there is very new to Unix (like 2 months) and is
very concerned about security of the Unix system itself (the Univac is well
buttoned down). If anyone knows of any references or would be willing to
share their experiences with him, please send me mail with your name &
address & phone number or net address. The system does not yet have UUCP
running.
I don't want to start this discussion here again, so please e-mail or US mail
replies to me: I'll hand them directly to Dominic Seraphin (the system
manager) without looking at them (mark them "Unix security" in the header),
or send them directly to him at:
Computing Center, State University of New York at
Stony Brook, Stony Brook, N.Y. 11794 USA.
Thanks in advance,
