Why would anyone want to emulate VMS on a UNIX machine. Most people just
leave good enough alone.
By the way have you ever tried to link a VMS program which uses
libraries with circular calls (ie. a routine in library A calls a routine in
library B which calls a routine in library A). I tried linking a graphics
program the other day with just such a setup and I ended up listing each
library twice thus you get one very long command line.
