COHERENT UNIX, A first short impression

As a response to several news questions and requests for first impressions
I have tried to write something useful about COHERENT UNIX. (I have
it only in house for 2 days.)
I have ordered COHERENT direct from Mark Williams and had it in house within
10 days. (pretty fast if you consider that I am living in Holland)
You will get a big size (>1000 pages) manual, 4 floppies and a small but
complete instruction set how to install and the use of UUCP. Installation
was easy and straight forward (this is my impression, but I am working with
UNIX and DOS since several years)
The first piece of code I was missing is the VI editor. This is for
me really a pain in the neck, as I have decided several years ago to
stick with VI. They supply a MicroEmacs editor and the ed and sed stuff |:(.
environment and the UUCP they supply is working also with an internal modem.
I am running the system on 1 Mb 386 with 71 Mb harddisk and have a Procomm
link to connect another PC as terminal on the system. The C compiler is capable
to do cross compilation, but I have tested only the basic working of the
compiler. (no problems)

I hope someone from Mark Wiliams is also reading netnews so they
can give there ideas about possible future directions and supply
customers with more info about the system.
