The following is a list of the files available throught the first
distribution of the public domain library. Each program has been
compiled and tested on a Pyramid machine. Each set of files has a man
page or README file which will describe the program's function.
Where relevant, the program sources have been standardized so that
they will all reside in the directory /usr/local/bin, which is the
location of public domain software on topaz. The original sources are
included, and are named identically to the file's name with a .ORIG
added to the end.
Those members of the library who have sent in Unix licensing
information will receive the sources appropriate to their licensing.
Sites which do not have licensing will receive the executable code and
man pages for all programs that are not dependent upon the system they
were compiled on. Some sites have sent in incomplete information, and
will not receive a tape until the information is complete. These
sites will be listed in a subesequent message.
A membership form will be follow this announcement. Memberships will
cost $50, and this includes the price of the first distribution tape.
Subsequent distribution tapes may be acquired for the price of $25.
If you are interested in meeting with other users of Pyramid
computers, you are encouraged to join the Pyramid User's Group. The
membership fee for the Pyramid User's Group is $150, which also
includes membership in the software library. The membership form will
also follow thisessage.
Once again, we would like to extend the invitation to the Pyramid
using public to send in any programs that have been written for
Pyramids. We already have Volumes 1 through 6 of the mod.sources
distribution, and the remainder of these programs not included here
will be added in future distributions. As before, a form for
submissions will follow this posting.

This software was assembled from a number of tapes given to Pyramid
and Rutgers by various users. We are reasonably certain that none of
it is highly propritary. However, there may be some programs which
the authors would prefer not to be distributed. If you know of any
such cases, please tell us as soon as possible. We have not yet
gotten permission to redistribute Ops5 and Icon. While we do not
expect problems in getting this permission, we will not redistribute
them without it.
If you have any questions, please address them to trudel at rutgers.edu.
