<I have finally found a source for PAL chips for the upgrade to the UNIX PC.
<Correctly installing one of these babies makes your system (7300 or 3b1)
<able to fully control a hard disk with more than 8 heads (up to 16 heads).
<
<I did this modification myself about 2 weeks ago, and I am quite happy
<with the added disk space. You can do it yourself if you can disassemble
<your UNIX PC, have a soldering iron, a desoldering tool of some kind,
<some patience and a lot of care.
<
<Assuming that there will be some interest in this, I have ordered some of
<the required materials, and will make them available by mail. The main
<thing you will get is a programmed PAL, ready for installation, and the
<installation instructions I used for my upgrade. I will make this
<available to all interested parties for $40.00 each. I will make a 30-day
<(or whatever longer period seems reasonable to me) warranty on the parts
<I supply -- you have to take responsibility for the modification. Details
<on request.
<
<I expect to have the PALs programmed by August 15. I can begin shipping
<as soon as that happens.

I have tried to email you back, but I keep getting the mail returned. If
you read this, consider it an order for one of these.
Maybe somehow we can establish a less convoluted path...
