Off newsgroup proliferation and moderation.

I don't see any reason to moderate the unix-pc newsgroups. The volume
is pretty low, and except for this very discussion, the pointless
meta-discussions have been infrequent.
There has been very little clutter in .sources, and I don't see any
reason to change. My archive of Jan-Jun is only 545K (compressed),
compared to 607K in alt.sources, 1303 in comp.sources.misc and 4334 of
comp.sources.unix. Curiously the slowest moderated group has the
biggest volume. Having suffered a 3 month delay posting something to
source.unix, I have a disinclination to start another tar pit.
It would be good to create a .bugs group to tidy .general some. I may
just do that in a few days unless there are some strong objections.
