Dial-up SLIP on Unix PC?

Hello.  I need to be able to initiate a dial-up SLIP connection to a PC
running PC/TCP.  I'd like to hear from anyone that has this working on
their Unix PC.  Is this even remotely possible?  Is it time to buy a
386 machine?
