Hmm, I have 6 UNIXPC's running 3.5 connected to phones and lines (ph1)
and they all "float" the phone from the line when powered down.
I dont think it is a hardware "problem" as I've never seen one that
wasn't this way. I played with it awhile and it did not matter if
the port was in DATA or VOICE before powering down the machine, the 
phone is always isolated from the line when powered off.

Are you referring to ph0 or to ph1?
