Greetings again from tourist hell! I have made (another) change to the way
in which I am offering FixDisk2. It is now just made up of binary parts
which can be cat'ed together to make the whole thing as an installable file.
I did this to cut down the size. The uuencoded, split, compressed version
added about 50K to the size of the whole thing. This may not sound like a
big deal to the Telebit people, but since most of the people are using 1200
baud there is some reduction in the xfer time this way.
There is a new addition to my anonuucp archive. I have most everything that
the STORE! had to offer when it was open. Following this is a list of the
file names of all the packages AT&T has decided to release. Aside from the
FixDisk and STORE! stuff, there are 2 other files listed. First, there is
the ls-lR file which contains a complete listing of my ANON directories.
Also in the STORE directory, there is a file called PCAL+IN.Z. This will
move the hidden files from /etc/fixes into the correct locations so that the
Personal Calendar program can be used. Did anybody actually get a copy of
that disk mailed to them?? I personally registered 4 or 5 different
Unix-PC's for myself and customers. I have never seen a REAL PCAL disk...
Anyway, enough griping... Doesn't do any good anyway!
One small aside. I reply to EVERY request for information that I get. I do
NOT have the financial resources to make return calls to every system that
calls me to send mail (If they provide a phone number, etc.). If you want
me to get a reply to you, PLEASE give me a valid uucp mail path if your site
is not in the maps!! Happy snarfing!!
