FAX***UNIX-PC

Is it possible(is anything) to send/receive fax's via the unix-pc
modem?  Alternately, can a fax machine be attached to the RS-232
port.  I know very little about fax but do know fax boards are 
available for 'other' machines.  What do we have?  Anyone want to
tackle this.
 
On another note, I have recently purchased a 3b1 (broken) for parts
It has "Voice Power", extended memory box, 67Mb HD, and I don't know
what else,  BUT: NOOO Software AT ALL, (Purchased at auction, $140)
I need voice power software, don't I;  and where can I get it(cheap)?
I seem to recall seeing on the newsgroup about where you can do 
music with the voice power board, is this true???   Thanks in advance..
