Help with MSC v5.1

   I am a very amateur C programmer (I was born and raised on FORTRAN)
using MSC v5.1 and I recently obtained some code written in C which I
would like to incorporate into my own code and when compiling this
foreign code I keep getting the message the compiler is out of far
heap space. What does this mean and how can I correct it? My basic
assumption is that I may have installed the wrong library when I
installed MSC. Is this way off?
