I only got one specific answer to the posting in which I asked for a source
to buy the DMA data chip that had gone bad on my 3b1. Are those chips so
impossible to find?
Now, the good news: Jan Isley, from Discovery Electronics (ex DDS) wrote back
not only with a source but with the offer to send me the chip, for FREE!.
Since they are not in the business of selling parts (she said), I assume that
they had the chip lying around. Nonetheless, without them I'd still be
looking for one. Since I didn't even buy the machine from them, I assume
they take pretty good care of their customers. I was very favorably
impressed. Whenever I can afford to buy accessories, expansion boards or
software, I'll definitely talk to them.

NOTE: I have no interest, financial or otherwise, in Discovery Electronics,
heck! I didn't even buy anything from them... I guess I can't even say I'm
a satisfied customer :-)
