Xmodem problems

We've got a lot of PC's (no laughing, please) hooked into the serial
ports of our 320S, and they're used as terminals (Procomm, set for 9600
baud).  Our port of xmodem (v. 3.6) seems to have problems receiving
files > 2K from the PCs, although the same version of xmodem works fine
if the PC is hooked up to a 25TG.  Anyone run into a similar problem?
(We're using kermit now, which works fine, so this is sort of moot, but
puzzling).  Thanx for any responses.
