stand/ide from disk?

You don't say which machine you have, but if it is a PI of some flavor,
you will find ide in the volume header of the root drive, so you can
either choose 2 from the PROM menu, or simply say 'ide' or 'ide fe' (for
more verbosity and slightly different tests (fe for field engineer)) at
the PROM prompt.

Note that some of the tests fail if you don't have loopback connectors 
on the duarts, etc., so don't get real upset if you are running 'fe' or
manually, and some tests report failure.  Finally, if you interrupt ide,
you can increase the verbosity of the status/failure reports by
saying 'report=#', where 0 is silent except for final reports, up through
4, which is very verbose.
