We have a five year old Iris 3030 computer which has recently had several
boards plus its monitor (a Hitachi) replaced. Our problem is with the
monitor. When we run the standard Iris graphics demos on it, it does not
display correctly. Colors, lines, etc. are all corrupted. Also, when
it initially come up in firmware mode the display looks all right.
However, as soon as we type b to boot the system, the display loses
the top 5 lines. This makes it impossible to edit files, e.g. since
we cannot see what we are editing.

Does anyone know if this shows that

1) the new monitor is bad
2) the new monitor is incompatible with the OLD Iris.

Thanks,
Yvonne Nagel
