statistical packages?

I have a few questions on statistical packages:

1. Does anyone know of any accurate public domain statistical packages?

2. If there are none, what are some good low cost packages for Sun3, 
   Sun386i, or Macintosh?

I will post a condensed version, if there are enough responses.
