In v7n277, Celeste C. Stokely (celeste at coherent.com) mentions her
"1 poor, tired cheapernet", and says they will soon "be going to thick
ethernet".
There is no difference in performance between thick and thin ethernet.
Simply replacing a thin cable with a thick one + tranceivers will not make
any difference in performance, unless you are exceeding the maximum
distance and/or the number of stations allowed on a thin segment, in which
case you might see a reduction in errors and collisions.
Stokely also says they will be splitting into two nets. That will
probably make a noticable difference.
