PC Token ring network under DosMerge ?

I am trying to use a Micom (Ethernet) card and the IBM Token ring (netbios)
simultaneously on my AT, running under Microport AT-2.3.0 and DosMerge 1.3.
Everything works fine with the ethernet connection (we are using Micom NP626
TCP-IP software package) running under Un*x, or after booting DOS from disk,
running netbios on DOS - but obviously it wont work together. This does not
seem to be a hardware problem, since I checked all port addresses and inter-
rupt levels on both cards to avoid any interference.
The whole thing can be trapped down to the point of DosMerge not being able
to work with a PC Token ring network. I have tried generating different
dos.images but the problem remains. 
My question is, has anybody out there managed to use DosMerge together
with an IBM Token ring network ??
