Troff output on a PostScript laserprinter

We have recently got CAP running and now have a user who wants to 
print some output from troff onto the laserprinter.  I've checked
some of the manual entries and there is some mention of printing
to postscript printers, but I can't figure out from the descriptions
what needs to be done.  I know that piping the output from troff
to lpr does not work.  I'm sure someone else must have tried such
a thing.  Any information would be appreciated.
