RCP: can't encode arguments (???)

I am running four Sun4/330 servers.  One of the machines began issuing
a message: "RPC: can't encode arguments."  This message echoes about
once every 10-20 seconds.  I have compared the way the machines are set
up and have exhausted my ideas for figuring out what is going on without
even an idea of what is happening.  Any help or ideas would be
appreciated.
