A couple of questions about Netland

I'm not sure if I'm posting these questions to the right newgroups.
Anyway, ...

I would like to know who is the controlling body of the whole netland,
if there is such a thing.  Also, what is the relationship between
USENET, UUNET, ARPANET, UUCP, and INTERNET.  I would appreciate it if anybody
could explain whether each of them is a generic name or commercial name;
and if it is a communication network as such or a company.

To add, I'm curious about which organization gives out the domain name to
a site or a gateway.  For instance, my country's domain name is MY.
