The Wren IV is one of the better drives I've had experience with.
There is one thing that a lot of people don't seem to know that can
make using the drive a lot faster. The Wren IV has a 32K cache on the
controller. The default, it seems, is for this cache to be off (silly
considering it's transparent and drasticly improves performance).
First thing that I do when I get one in is to hook it up to a PC with
an Adaptec SCSI controller and run Roy Neese's SCSICNTL.EXE to turn
the cache on. I don't know of any other way to do this...
The performance increase is very noticable.
