While we are the subject of problems with Rev D...
First let me say that overall I have been very happy with ESIX. I
think however that Rev D was rushed out without sufficent testing.
In addition to the problem with FFS (being able to create a filesystem
with more inodes than the system can handle). I have been having
problems with the new X Windows server.
1) I have build a version of xfig1.4. When I run it the server dumps
coree.
2) If the screen saver has run, the server dumps core if you try to
do anything.
3) When using twm if there is a .twmrc with anything in it the server
shuts down (I think twm is exiting).
I can not find any indication anywhere as to what is causeing this.
And since it is clear that ESIX has no intention of fixing anything in
Release 3.2 I don't see much sense in looking further. I am currently
trying to get the sources for X11R4 from Thomas Roell. When I get them
I will try to get them running. In the mean time I am going to try to
reinstall the X Windows from Rev C.
I am really begining to feel like I felt when Microport let you think
you were talking to somebody who gave a shit (you were really talking
to there answering service, I will never forgive any company named
Microport for that).
