Okay, I had the same problems at first (I now have my own server, no shared
libs yet though). It has been a while, but here goes.
1) I never got the shared libraries working completely right, but don't
forget you have to use 2 different Imakefile's in mit/lib.
2) Scroll Lock didn't change my light either.
3) I never had the system beep unless I tried to switch windows,
this is not allowed in Roell's server.
4) I think the "Can't open display" is caused by 'xterm' having
the suid set, when that was turned off, it ran fine. (One other
program also had it set, but I don't remember which one.)
5) I could only get it to run from the super user account.
Hope I have helped in some way 8-).
