FAS driver works under Bell Tech/Intel; DigiBoard 8 question

To all Bell Tech/Intel Unix 3.2 users, I can report that the FAS async
driver appears to work fine on these systems.
Follow the instructions for ISC UNIX -- they work as-is, at least for me.
Has anyone with an old DigiBoard 8 eight-port dumb async board been able
to get it to work with the FAS driver and NS16550A UARTs? I send one
character then the port hangs -- it's apparently not generating interrupts
or at least not the one I think it's generating. DigiBoard said they'd
had to rework the card to support the '550A, but I was thinking that might
just have involved their special one-bit-per-port-state-of-the-UARTs status
byte, which FAS ignores anyway.
When are the prices on these @$#%&*(%ing smart boards going to come down?
