Problem with installation of TCP/IP in kernel

I am a very NEW user of UNIX and have a 386/25 running Interactive Unix
version 2.0.2. I am having a problem installing the TCP/IP package.
I did the normal install through sysadm and then tried to do a kernel
configuration. I received an error message back saying that :
ERROR: No Such Device 'lockd' in mdevice.
The configuration aborted aborted at this time. I am using a WD 8003E
as prescribed by Interactive. I have another Unix box running just basic
Unix. I plan to network these two systems together and leave the smaller
one on at all times as a communications server for the larger system.
I have not as yet tried to install TCP/IP in the smaller system. I have
looked in the mdevice file in both systems and there is no lockd entry
in either one. This is also my first time that I have used news on my own
system. I previously posted from a friend's system (his system is also my
feed). If there is any one who can guide me in this matter I would
appreciate any tip or help in this matter.
