is there an equivalent SIGIO in SYSV386

I am wanting to run a task that does not block out the process
when keyboard input is requested. What I need is for a keyboard
hit (may be console, tty, etc) to interrupt the process.

Sun workstations have SIGIO which does this providing that the network
doesn't get in the way. Rather than polling repeatedly with a 0 timeout
which will take away CPU time, is there some other way?

I am running ESIX rev D. Any ideas would be appreciated.
