Both are interchangable between systems that have QIC tape drives 
at similar capacities (except HP systems, of course - they use a proprietary
format).   You may run into problems if you want to take a 150MB tape 
and read it on a 60MB drive.

QIC-150 tape drives will write DC600A tapes in QIC-120 format (120MB) that
can be read on most other QIC 150 drives, but not on QIC-60 drives.

Usually the only difference is the slot the separate controller will take up.
