SCO Unix boot problem and changing uid's

Hello,

A few months ago there was some talk of a fix for the problem with
SCO unix that stops it booting on a fast 486 without reducing the clock speed.
I seem to remember that there was an unsupported interim file on sosco to
patch this, unfortunatly I can only get at internet FTP sites such as uunet
so I cant look there. Is this patch availbale anywhere else?

Also I need to change some user numbers to cope with NFS, I know there is a
way to do this but I am reluctant to just dive in there and fiddle. Any help
will be appreciated.

And is there a reliable ftp source for the latest binaries of X11? There seem
to be loads of flavors of source around (pun intended!) but very few binaries.

While I am here beware of atof(), it is defined in stdlib.h and not math.h,
possibly this is standard to some people but it caused me some troubles for
a while!

Much appreciated:
