TROFF and phototypesetting

Is anyone out there familiar with the troff software for the Mergenthaler
Lintron 202 typesetter.  I have a 11/70 running a modified version of
V6 UNIX.  I am having a problem with changing fonts in the middle of a line.
The troff software doesnt seem to be able to justify the line right.

If anyone can give me some insight into this I would be very greatful.
