Considering GNU discussions

After some discussion with a particular individual elsewhere on the net
and after some sober reflection, I feel compelled to make a statement
about my last message. You remember that one...it said:
Maybe this discussion ought to be moved to "/dev/null".
It was not intended to be taken seriously. It would be presumptious
and selfish of me to demand that everyone stop discussing something
merely because I didn't want to read about it. I am continually
concerned about the volume on Unix-Wizards and I have seen some fairly
useless discussions appear on it from time to time--discussions that we
all could have done without. I realize now that the GNU discussion
does not fit in that category. Just because I don't care for it
doesn't mean that no one else does either.
Consider this a plea: think about what you send out to Unix-Wizards
(as I did NOT a week ago) and convince yourself that your ENTIRE
message will be of interest to the Unix-Wizards community. Perhaps if
we all do this we can cut down on the "junk mail". Many interesting
things have been said on this list, and many useless things as well.
If my previous message offended anyone, I apologize. If it amused
anyone, I am pleased (for that was its intent). If anyone wants to
comment further about my previous message, don't bother.
