Thanks to all who answered my question about "%r" in a printf format. The
replies have been both timely and helpful.
(If anyone else out there is curious what it is, it's a "remote" format, which
specifies that the next argument is the beginning of a list of addresses with
arguments to printf. It's nonportable, and went away somewhere around V6.)
