Two subjects; not related.
A properly working UDA-50A/RC-25 driver, allowing different
partitioning for drives of different types, dump code, etc etc etc,
tested on RA80's, RA81's, RA60's, and RC25's is available from me at
decvax!rich or from decvax!mit-athena!jg. It is for all intents and
purposes what was shipped with Ultrix 1.0, and has been in heavy use
here at MIT since its last major work in February by Rich Hyde of UEG
on 30 or more machines.
4.2 should boot on 11/785's without change; the processor is so
identicle to a 780 that is returns a CPU type of 780 in the SID
register. The only problems one can concieve of have to do with
timing dependent code; for example the DELAY macro in device drivers.
Ultrix supports the 785 if you want a supported operating system.
