vmunix/68000/sun/mmu

Question re: vmunix/sun micro mmu :

we have a sun (not yet upgraded to the 'sun2 board'). An unprivileged
user can crash the system by generating a protection exception! (on
vms one just gets exited from the current image with appropriate message
and abnormal status.)  Since it is not an infrequent occurrence to have
some pointer misreferenced or misassigned this means one can crash vmunix-68000
a heck of a lot! Perhaps this is not the right forum for this
question, but can someone explain why 68000-vmunix a la sun/berkeley
has this problem????
