Request for laser printer information

A few weeks ago I put the following request out on unix-wizards. At
that time we were not connected to usenet and now we are. So, I am
putting it out again partly because it will be MUCH easier to get
responses back to me now and to make sure it gets into the right
news groups.
I have been getting some good information and will be getting ready
to send something out in a week or two. Thanks to everybody that
has responded so far.
I am needing information on laser printers. We have an LN01 right
now and are VERY dissatisfied with it. Our budget is something less
than or equal to the cost of the LN01 ($25,000). It must be able
to support troff (down-loadable fonts or being able to print a raster
image, both would be nice) and ditroff. (We are running 4.2BSD,
on a Vax-11/750)
We have two main problems with the LN01. One is accessing proper
documentation on how to down-load fonts. Second, there are numerous
bugs in the printer itself, and other limitations. It isn't capable of
printing a page with more than moderate amounts of cursor motions (i.e.
more than 10 or so underlined characters on a line if the nroff cursor
motions are translated directly). Font changes would simlarly limit
it. There is a nagging bug where it doesn't print the last page of a
print job. The manual gives 3 ways to get that last page out. My
printer filter does 2 of those three things and it still will hang onto
that last page sometimes.
I will put any responses back out here.

For arpa-net, anlams has the name ANL-MCS. (i.e. use "ukma!david at ANL-MCS").
I have been having intermittent problems with this address though.
