Problems with -me macros

Has anybody out there had any problems with the me macros and ditroff?
We're running ditroff with version 2.15 of the me package, and the vertical
spacing it produces is far too small, and the lines overlap each other in the
final text. I don't think it's ditroff, as the ms and man packages work
fine. Has anyone had this problem, or know of a fix?

P.S   Please forgive me if this appears twice -- I've had to pad at 1200
      baud to a different country to  get this news connection,
