It is worth noting, mind you, that a number of the POSIX gray areas --
last time I saw them -- were exactly the sort of things that no sensible
programmer makes his program depend on anyway. Who *cares* whether "."
and ".." show up when you examine a directory?!? You're only going to
ignore them anyway.
