A colleauge of mine found an incompatibility between ksh and sh.
In the System V "sh" the following test works:
if [ -f /usr/anyusr/* ] ; then
# There are files there
But "ksh" claims this is a syntax error.
Our $0.02 worth.
While I'm posting, I'm 'gonna up it to $0.04.
A guy posted a message asking for a AWK to C converter. He was flamed,
told to find /bin/cc. That stinks in my opinion. The guy who flamed
him should read the guest article in the January issue of UNIX World.
