bsd 4.3 named

Has anyone configured the berkely 'named' daemon to work on a system
without any remote hosts [no network hardware], and if so could you
e-mail a sample of the files needed.

I would like to get talk and sendmail to work, without haveing to
recompile libc.a to use inetd only.
