Several months ago I trashed all of the distribution mail stuff on my
machine and installed smail2.5 and elm. Everything was fine
until some of my users absolutly insisted on using SCO's Office Portfolio
mailer. This mailer insists on placing a From: line in the header with just
the users name and no domain name. Smail dutifully doesn't change the From:
line. What this does is allow some of my mail to escape without a valid
header. If anyone has any insight how to make the Office Portfolio mailer
either generate a correct header (not likely) or leave off the From: line
completely (prefered) and let smail handle it please let me know.
As an alternate I could install sendmail and rewrite the headers, but I really
don't want to open that can of worms. (Has anyone tried this?)
