C-Kermit and the ATE

Two items of information for y'all. First, I've seen a lengthy bug
report in Info-Kermit complaining that the UNIXpc OBM support code is
no good (doesn't compile, doesn't work write have being hacked into a
compilable state, etc.). So I wouldn't go running out to replace your
copy of K. O'Gorman's C-Kermit port with the latest version from
Columbia.
Second, for those of you who've thought, "gee, I never use the
Asynchronous Terminal Emulation (ATE) package, perhaps I'll just
remove it", I discovered today that the ATE package *must* be
installed in order for O'Gorman's C-Kermit to work. At least, the ate
driver must be installed; I think the utilities and fonts can be
scrapped. Without the ate driver in place, kermit fails in its
attempt to open up the ph device.
