Battery backup or UPS for 3B1

Has anyone had any experience with a standby battery backup or online
uninterruptible power supply for the UNIX PC.  My machine is currently
on a surge suppressor and EMI filter power strip.  I have looked
seriously at the new Cleary 1240 online UPS which provides 360 watts
continuous and 2700 watts transient peaks.  It provides 12 minutes of
battery supply with AC line failure.  The retail cost is $890 but I
have seen it advertised at $688.  I run my machine 24 hours per day.
I am wondering if the cost is justified?  Please post or email any
responses on the subject.
