1.6M disks & Floppy-connector tape back-up system

OK - I've got the 1.6M drive and a box of (VERY EXPENSIVE) disks, but the
disks aren't organized the way I hoped. To get the increased storage,
this drive uses twice as many bits per inch. While it is possible to set
this using the gdisk stuff (more info in <sys/gdisk.h>), there is no way
to set this using iv. Anyone know how to get AT&T to change this a little
or want to deveolpe a driver for it?

Another question - I remember hearing a while back that a group was working
on a driver to get a tape back up system to work (one of the inexpensive
ones that works through a floppy interface). If you were one of the
people working on this or know anything about this project, please let me
know.
